According to a recent update on the official website of the IGNOU, admissions for the January 2025 sessions are open now. Anyone willing to gain admission to any of the Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate(PG), Certificate, Diploma, and PhD courses can apply. Visit the IGNOU’s official website for registration. Moreover, the last date to apply is 31st January 2025. Apply before the last date, so you do not miss registering.

It tweeted, ‘Extension of last date for January, 2025 Fresh Admission till January 31, 2025, in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online Mode for January 2025 session.

How to Apply

Students can apply for these courses online through the official IGNOU admission portal: http://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. or https://ignouiop.samarth.edu.in/  The application process involves filling out the form with personal and academic details, paying the required fees, and submitting the form.

  • In the applicant login area, click on “NEW REGISTRATION.“
  • Complete your registration details. Your username should be 8 to 16 characters, and your password should be alphanumeric and 8 to 16 characters.
  • After providing the required information, click “SUBMIT.“
  • Your username will be sent to you through email and SMS. Remember both your username and password.
  • If you’ve already registered, simply click on “LOGIN.”

Required documents at the time of filling out the form-

  • You need to attach all the documents required. Make sure to attach all the scanned copies of your documents. 
  • A scanned signature (size should be less than 100 KB).
  • A scanned photograph (size should be less than 100 KB).
  • If you belong to SC/ST/OBC, a scanned copy of your Category Certificate (size should be less than 200 KB).
  • Scanned copies of your Relevant Educational Qualifications (size should be less than 200 KB).
  • If applicable, a scanned copy of your Experience Certificate (size should be less than 200 KB).

Programmes & Eligibility

IGNOU covers a wide range of over 200 programs in online & ODL mode, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses. Most of these programs accept students based on their marks in the qualifying exams. However, for certain courses like B.Ed, MPhil, PhD, and Post-Basic BSc Nursing, candidates need to clear an entrance exam.
