Delhi University’s department of distance education was established in the year 1962 with an aim to provide quality skills and education to those students who want to continue their higher education without disturbing their personal and professional life. There are mainly four different specializations in DU SOL MBA. The specializations include finance, marketing, OB & HRM, operations and strategy. Admissions for DUSOL’s Online and Distance MBA programs for the January 2025 session are expected to start around 3rd June 2025. The last date to apply for the Online and ODL MBA programs will be approximately 15th November 2025.

Credit Weightage of the DU SOL MBA Courses
To complete the DU SOL MBA program, students must complete a total of 144 credits, which include:
1) Total Credits: The MBA program is structured to comprise 144 credits over 2 years (4 semesters).
2) Credit Distribution:
- Each course carries specific credits based on the number of hours required.
- One credit typically equates to 1 hour of teaching per week over a semester.
- Courses include Core Courses (CC), Discipline-Specific Electives (DSE), Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC), and Generic Electives (GE).
3) Semester-wise Breakdown:
- Each semester includes a combination of these courses to accumulate the required credits.
- Students must fulfill the required number of credits each semester as specified in the program structure.
4) Self-Learning Component: Some courses may include self-learning credits, where students engage in learning activities outside classroom instruction (e.g., MOOCs, case studies, simulations).
5) Minimum and Maximum Credits: Students must adhere to the minimum and maximum limits of credits per semester as stipulated in the course curriculum.
Minimum Passing marks In DU SOL MBA Programme
To pass a course in the DU SOL MBA program, A student must obtain at least 40% in each course (paper), and an overall 45% aggregate across all courses in a semester to pass.
Evaluation Scheme: Each course is evaluated based on two components:
Internal Assessment (IA): 30 marks, Term-End Examination (TEE): 70 marks
A student must secure the minimum pass marks separately in both IA and TEE components.
Division of Degree as Per Score – The degree shall be awarded to the successful students on the basis of the combined results of Part I and Part II in the first and second year examination as follows:
First Division = Candidates securing 60% and above
Second Division = Candidates securing above 50% but
below 60%
Third Division = All others
