New Delhi, June 2, 2025 — The School of Open Learning (SOL) under the University of Delhi has officially kick-started its UG admission process for the academic session 2025–26. With registrations beginning at (https://ugadmission.oldcdu.ac.in/ug/student/register/) on Sunday, June 1, over 4,400 students have already submitted their applications within the first few hours, a strong indicator of the growing interest in flexible, online and distance-based learning programs.

This year, SOL is offering admissions to 19 undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including popular UG courses such as B.A. Programme, B.Com (Hons.), BBA FIA, BMS, B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science, English, and Economics. At the PG level, courses like MBA, M.Com, M.A. in Hindi, Sanskrit, Political Science, History, and BLIS are available.
A Four-Phase Registration Process at DU SOL
For the first time, DU SOL has introduced a structured four-phase registration and admission process.
1) Initial Registration: Applicants are required to fill out a basic information form to generate their registration IDs and gain access to the prospectus.
2) ABC and DEB ID Creation: From June 5–10, students must generate their Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID and UGC Distance Education Bureau (DEB) ID. These IDs will help track academic credits digitally, an important step toward education digitization.
3) Program Recommendation: Based on academic qualifications and marks, the university will recommend suitable programs to the students.
4) Document Submission and Admission: After selecting their course, students will fill out the final admission form and upload the required documents. Post this, document verification will take place within three days.
Admissions Still Open for Regular DU Colleges
An added benefit for applicants is that students admitted to SOL remain eligible for regular DU college admissions. If a student later secures a seat through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) in any regular college of Delhi University, they can cancel their SOL admission. The SOL administration will refund the admission fee after deducting a nominal processing fee.
Is It a New Digital Shift?
Another noteworthy innovation this year is the automatic generation of the DEB ID through the Academic Bank of Credit system. According to SOL Director Prof. Payal Mago, this integration with national-level academic databases is a pioneering move that simplifies processes and ensures transparency in open learning.
Delhi University’s School of Open Learning continues to expand its reach among students who seek quality higher education outside the constraints of traditional classrooms. With over 4,000 registrations already recorded on the first day and many more expected in the coming days, DU SOL is set to play a crucial role in promoting accessible, flexible, and technology-driven education.
