New Delhi: The schedule for online admissions to the first-year junior college (FYJC) in Maharashtra has been released by the directorate of school education. This process is applicable in five cities: Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, and Amravati. To ensure a smooth registration process, a mock or demo registration is currently underway and will continue until May 24. The official registration process will commence on May 25.

The purpose of the mock registration is to allow applicants to familiarise themselves with the procedure and minimise mistakes during the actual registration. The initial phase of registration, starting on May 25, will involve filling out Part 1 of the online form, which requires entering candidate details.

The second part of the form, where candidates indicate their preferred colleges in order of priority, will become accessible after the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) results are announced.

While non-state boards have already declared their Class 10 results, the Maharashtra state board is yet to do so. Once the SSC results are out, candidates will have sufficient time to complete Part 2 of the registration form. According to the tentative schedule, three Common Admission Process (CAP) rounds will be conducted to allocate seats.

Additionally, two special CAP rounds will take place. This year, there will be no First Come First Served (FCFS) round, but daily merit lists will be published to accommodate remaining candidates towards the end of the admissions process.

The directorate aims to conclude the FYJC online admission process by the end of August, with the objective of bringing the academic calendar back to normalcy. Delays in admissions over the past two years, caused by pandemic-related result delays, have resulted in disruptions to the academic schedule. Once the first CAP round is completed, Class 11 academics will commence.
