  • Students must be at least 14 years old by July 31 for Stream 1 Block 1 admission, and by January 31 for Stream 1 Block 2 admission, as this is the minimum age requirement.
  • Those who have failed or passed Class 8 and have a one-year gap are eligible to apply.
  • Students who have failed or passed Class 9 can also apply for NIOS 10th class secondary courses.
  • Even without formal qualifications, students aged 14 or older with a valid Indian Aadhar card displaying their complete date of birth are eligible to apply for NIOS 10th Class secondary courses.

  • Students who passed their 10th class in the current year (2024) are also eligible to apply for NIOS 12th Class. However, these students can only take exams for four subjects in the subsequent public exam in 2024. They can appear for the fifth and any additional subjects in the 2025 public exam after completing a one-year gap following their 10th class.
  • Students who have a one-year gap after passing their 10th class are eligible to appear in all subjects in the subsequent public exam.
