Fee Structure for DU SOL MBA Course 2024

The fee structure for the MBA program at IGNOU is designed to be affordable while ensuring that students receive a high-quality education. Below is the detailed fee breakdown for the entire course duration:

The MBA Programme consists of 28 courses in all and includes:

a) Twenty (20) Core courses (from MMPC-001 to MMPC-020)

b) Seven (07) courses from any one of the chosen specialisation area

c) One (01) Project course (MMPP-001 equivalent to 2 courses)

Students need to select 7 courses in each of the semesters during the programme.

  • In the 1st Semester, students must select and complete MMPC-001 through MMPC-007, as all seven courses are mandatory. Similarly, in the 2nd semester, students are required to take MMPC-008 through MMPC-014, with all seven courses being compulsory.
  • IGNOU distance MBA program offers various specializations, including Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Operations Management, Marketing Management, and Services Management. Students can choose one of these specializations for their MBA degree.
  • In the 3rd Semester, students are required to select MMPC-015, MMPC-016, and MMPP-001 (three courses) along with four additional courses from their chosen specialization.
  • In the 4t Semester, students need to select MMPC-017 through MMPC-020 (four compulsory courses) along with three additional courses from their chosen specialization.
  • To get an MBA degree in a specific specialization, a student must complete a total of 7 courses within that specialization.

The MMPP-001 (Project Course) is equivalent to two courses in terms of fees, though it is treated as a single course for registration purposes.

To complete a Ignou MBA degree, a student must complete a total of 28 courses, amounting to 116 credits. These include:

  • 20 Core Courses (4 credits each) totaling 80 credits
  • One Project Course worth 8 credits
  • 7 Specialization Courses (4 credits each) totaling 28 credits

Fee Structure for Foreign Students

The fee structure mentioned above applies only to Indian students. For foreign students, there are detailed fee structures based on their country of origin. Specifically, foreign students are categorized into two groups: those from SAARC countries and those from non-SAARC countries.

If you are a student from a SAARC country, you’re eligible to enroll in the IGNOU MBA program under the same fee structure as Indian students, with a total fee of ₹62,000.If you’re from a non-SAARC country, the fee structure of IGNOU MBA differs. Foreign students from outside the SAARC region are required to pay a semester fee of ₹81,306 for the 1st, 2nd, and 4th semesters. The fee for the 3rd semester is set at ₹1,07,176.

Bachelor Degree of Minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category).

IGNOU MBA Duration

The IGNOU distance MBA program spans a minimum of 2 years, with a maximum duration of 4 years. Students and working professionals are allowed to enroll or re-register in seven courses each semester, which facilitates completing the required 28 courses over four semesters, or two years, to earn the MBA degree. The initial registration for the program must start in the first semester, with re-registration needed for subsequent semesters.

IGNOU MBA Admission Process

Admission to this distance MBA program is conducted online, with the registration link available on the official IGNOU website (www.ignou.ac.in). Once the eligibility criteria are met, a student can register for the program and continue with the re-registration process for the following semesters.

IGNOU MBA Exit Certification

To get an MBA degree in a chosen specialization, a student must complete all 28 specified courses. However, if a student chooses to exit the program after successfully completing the first two semesters (56 credits), they may request to do so and receive a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM) as a formal qualification.

IGNOU MBA Term-end Examination

Learners must complete an Examination Form to participate in each Term End Examination (TEE). It means that for every exam session (June/December), a new application is required. The Examination Forms are to be submitted online only, according to the schedule provided below.

IGNOU offers a programme fee exemption for SC/ST students under its SCSP and TSP schemes, subject to the university’s policy, which is reviewed each admission cycle. This exemption applies only to the programme fee listed in the Admission Prospectus and does not cover late fees, term-end exam fees, convocation fees, etc. Employed SC/ST students or those receiving scholarships or fee waivers from other sources are ineligible for this exemption.

IGNOU MBA Registration Fee, Cancellation of Admission, and Fee Refund

A non-refundable Registration Fee of ₹200 (unless stated otherwise) is required along with the first semester/year programme fee at the time of admission. If a student requests cancellation of admission and a refund, the policy is as follows:

  1. Before the last date for admission form submission: A refund will be issued after a deduction of ₹200.
  2. Within 15 days from the last date for submission: A refund will be issued after a deduction of ₹500.
  3. Within 30 days from the last date for submission: A refund will be issued after a deduction of ₹1,000.
  4. After 30 days from the submission deadline: No refund will be granted.
  5. For cases (a) to (c), the candidate must submit a written refund request to the concerned Regional Director.
